I am a helpful person and invariably spend a lot of time helping potential applicants hone their CV and present it correctly to my client (Is this value added to both parties or deception? Who knows?). I enjoy it. Often this involves correcting mistakes which come in all shapes and sizes but frequently include glaringly obvious errors (duly picked up by Word and underlined), misspelled job titles or company names, etc. These are frequently very senior people, with English as their 1st language, expecting six figure salary packages and there isn’t really an excuse for it is there? We all make mistakes (heaven knows) but this is the primary selling document that could help someone land their dream job. A little bit of time invested in checking the CV really is worth it.
